Micro-Economics of Innovation
Outline of the week
This week will give an overview of some fundamental research topics in the micro-economics of technological change mainly, but not exclusively, within an evolutionary economic perspective. Particular emphasis will be given to the role of firms as drivers of innovation. Topics covered will include the economic sources and consequences of innovation, innovation and industry dynamics, appropriability of innovation, relations between technology and organization, competencies and diversification; and how firms organise their innovative activities.
